Single Minds band members
were Interviewed by Dana. |
Dana; |
Tim, when did you first discover about the SimpleMinds music ? |
| |
 |
Tim; |
A few years ago I was in my favourite cd-shop and bought the 'city of light' album, it blew me off my socks: from then on I was a Simple Minds addict! |
| |
Dana; |
What did you like about SM ? |
| |
Tim; |
Jim Kerr is really cute! (laughs) No seriously: it's powerful music but on the other hand it's subtile too. They have their specific sound, you can recognize a SM song by the first notes |
| |
Dana; |
How would you describe their music ? |
| |
Tim; |
Powerful, a wall of sound, original, thougt through. In one word: magical! |
| |
Dana; |
How do you experience the Simple Minds arragements ? |
| |
Tim; |
Practising-time for me is always quite intense.
Basically I take the studio versions and spice them up with some live ideas.
I'm always looking forward to the challenge of getting down a new sm-drumline. |
| |
Dana; |
Which band members inspire you ? |
| |
Tim; |
Mel Gaynor of course! The pure power and energy that he puts in playing live is amazing and he is a well respected studio drummer too. Also he is a real simple minds veteran together with Jim and Charlie. |
| |
Dana; |
Which are your favorite 3 songs ? |
| |
Tim |
This is a real hard question but I'll give it a try: Ghostdancing, Oh Jungleland and Speed your love to me. This hurts!!! |
| |
Dana; |
What was your first Simple Minds Album ? |
| |
Tim; |
Live in the city of light. |
| |
Dana; |
What was your best SM concert ? |
| |
Tim; |
As I am the youngest bandmember I never saw them in their early days but I went to Werchter classic and Suikerrock where there performance was super! |
| Dana; |
WHow importent is the drum's sound to you and why? |
| |
Tim; |
Sonor S Class Definitely!!! |
